Before you start

Paragon TV works in any app that takes an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist. You need three things, all on your Paragon TV service page in your client area and in your welcome email:

  • Your Paragon TV username
  • Your Paragon TV password
  • The server address, if your app asks for one

Bundles have separate logins for TV and for movies and series. Use the TV login here.

Which app to use:

  • Fire TV, Android TV and Google TV: our preconfigured TiviMate build. It is the easiest setup and the best TV guide.
  • Phones, tablets and Apple devices: IPTV Smarters or another M3U or Xtream app from your app store.
  • Anything else: any player that accepts an M3U playlist or an Xtream Codes login.

TiviMate with Downloader

Our TiviMate build comes with the Paragon TV server already filled in, so you only type your username and password. It installs through Downloader, a free app from the Amazon and Google Play stores.

Downloader code for TiviMate

XXXXXXX

Type this into Downloader's search or URL box.

1. Allow Downloader to install apps

  1. Install Downloader from your device's app store.
  2. Fire TV: go to Settings, My Fire TV, Developer options, Install unknown apps, and turn Downloader on. If you can't see Developer options, open Settings, My Fire TV, About, and select your device name seven times.
  3. Android TV and Google TV: go to Settings, Apps, Security & restrictions (or Privacy), Unknown sources, and turn Downloader on. The menu names vary a little between brands.

2. Install TiviMate

  1. If TiviMate is already on the device, uninstall it first. This removes its saved settings, so have your Paragon TV login ready.
  2. Open Downloader, select the search or URL box and enter the code above. Select Go.
  3. When the download finishes, select Install, then Done. Downloader may offer to delete the install file afterwards; that is safe and frees space.

3. Sign in

  1. Open TiviMate and choose the preconfigured Paragon server from the list.
  2. Enter your Paragon TV username and password exactly as shown on your service page. The server address is already set.
  3. Wait for channels and the TV guide to load. The first load can take a minute.

IPTV Smarters

IPTV Smarters is available for Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad and many TVs and boxes. Install it from your app store, then:

  1. Choose Add user, then Login with Xtream Codes API.
  2. For Any name, type anything you like, such as Paragon.
  3. Enter your Paragon TV username and password.
  4. For the URL, enter the server address from your service page.
  5. Select Add user and wait for channels and the guide to load.

Server address

http://XXXXXXXX.XXX

Copy it from your service page; type it exactly, including http:// and any port number.

Any M3U or Xtream app

Any player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists works. Xtream Codes is better when the app offers it: the TV guide and categories come through automatically.

Xtream Codes login

Enter the server address, username and password from your service page, the same as in IPTV Smarters.

M3U playlist

If the app only takes a playlist link, copy the M3U link from your service page. It follows this pattern, with your own login in place of the capitals:

M3U playlist link

From your service page
http://XXXXXXXX.XXX/get.php?username=USERNAME&password=PASSWORD&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

TV guide (EPG) link

From your service page
http://XXXXXXXX.XXX/xmltv.php?username=USERNAME&password=PASSWORD

Treat these links like a password: anyone with them can use your connections.

TV guide and catch-up

The TV guide loads with the channels in TiviMate, Smarters and other Xtream apps. In M3U-only apps, add the EPG link above as the guide source.

  • If the guide is empty, update or reload the EPG from the app's settings, then give it a few minutes.
  • Check the time zone in the app if programmes look shifted by a few hours.
  • Channels with catch-up keep up to X days of past programmes. In TiviMate, open the guide, move left to an earlier programme and select it.

Connections

A connection is one device watching live TV at a time. Paragon TV plans and bundles come with 1 to 5 connections; the free trial has 1.

  • You can install the app on as many of your own devices as you like. Only devices playing at the same moment count.
  • Close the app or stop the channel when you're done, so the connection frees up straight away.
  • Need more? You can add connections later from your client area; your login and renewal date stay the same.

See connection limits for how they're counted.

If something goes wrong

  • Login rejected: type the username and password instead of pasting, and check for spaces at the start or end. Check the service is active in your client area.
  • Channels won't load: restart the app and the device. In Smarters or other apps, check the server address character by character.
  • Buffering: follow the troubleshooting guide. Test on Ethernet if you can, and turn off any VPN to compare.
  • One channel is down: try it again in a few minutes, then open a ticket with the channel name and the time.

Still stuck? Open a ticket with your device, app and what you tried. A person on the team replies, usually within 12 hours. Never send your password.
